Tetanus Antitoxin Injection is a biological product extracted and purified from horse serum, with specific anti-tetanus toxin antibodies as the main component. It exerts the effect of preventing and treating tetanus by neutralizing free tetanus spasmodic toxins in the body and blocking the toxin's impact on the nervous system.

Its applicable scenarios include:

Preventive use: For various traumas (such as deep stab wounds, burns, animal bites, etc.), especially those with severely contaminated wounds, individuals who have not completed the full course of tetanus vaccination, or those with unknown immunization history. It can quickly provide passive immunity and reduce the risk of tetanus onset.

Therapeutic use: For emergency treatment of tetanus patients. It needs to be used in large doses in the early stage of the disease, combined with debridement and symptomatic treatment, to relieve spastic symptoms and control disease progression.

This product is usually administered via intramuscular injection or intravenous drip. The specific dosage needs to be adjusted according to the trauma situation, patient's weight, and severity of the condition. An allergy test (skin test) must be performed before administration. For those who are allergic, desensitization injection or tetanus human immunoglobulin should be used instead.
